BOXER MIKE TOWELL

The British Boxing Board of Control are presently considering the judgement into the death of Boxer Mike Towell published by the Sheriff Principal C. D. Turnbull in Glasgow.

All recommendations made will be fully considered by the Stewards of the Board, Medical Panel and legal representatives.

The Board will of course advise the Sheriff Principal of its findings and any amendments to its regulations and licensing procedures for all boxers following full consideration of the recommendations.

PAYMENT OF LICENCE FEES

NOTICE TO ALL LICENCE HOLDERS

We have been notified that some people have been contacted by e-mail giving them the option to pay their licence renewal fee online.

We believe this to be a fraudulent scam.

Please be advised that at this time the British Boxing Board of Control send out a notice to renew a licence fee by letter and payments for the renewal of licenses can only be made by contacting head office by telephone on 02920 367 000 and dealing with a member of head office staff, in addition a cheque or postal order can be sent to head office.

A licence holder should not attempt to make a payment for their licence by e-mail or through an on-line link.

Billy Joe Saunders

BILLY JOE SAUNDERS

Billy Joe Saunders appeared before the Stewards of the British Boxing Board of Control today under a misconduct charge following his recent behaviour shown on social media.

The Stewards have found Mr. Saunders guilty of bringing the sport of Boxing into disrepute and have fined him the sum of £100,000 and issued a severe reprimand as to his future conduct.

All monies will go to the BBBofC charity to assist ex-boxers and ex- license holders who have fallen on hard times.
